The scenery around Round Mountain is terrific. One side of the valley is the Toiyabe Range, with 50 mile of mountains over 10,000 feet. On the opposite side is the Toquima Range, with summits above 11,000 feet. The highest in the range is Mount Jefferson, at 11,949 feet.
There are hundreds of miles of tracks through these unspoiled mountains that are suitable for walking or four-wheeling.
You may see big horn sheep, elk, deer, sage grouse or even a mountain lion on the higher elevations.
